Rogers is launching both the HTC Dream and the HTC Magic in June of this year, snapping a “cold spell” of Android-lessness up north. The phones will Rogers exclusives in Canada, and it’s one of the first spots we’ve heard of — other than the fairly inevitable T-Mobile USA — to be getting the elusive HTC Magic outside of Vodafone. Otherwise details are scarce, but Rogers promises more information soon, and has an online countdown for “the revolution” on June 2nd. How polite.

Given that Sprint and Palm are no stranger to Best Buy shelves, it was only natural that the Pre would be headed that way, and it looks like a sure thing now that a bright yellow Pre banner landed on Best Buy’s website. Oddly, the banner only seems to show its face under specific searches for “pre” or “palm pre,” and isn’t linked to any further info — like a super-convenient launch date and price or anything special like that. What it does suggest is that Palm may or may not be gearing up to reveal those very facts. Possibly.

Another possible Pre launch date is precisely the last thing the world needs, but that’s what we’re getting, so check it: a Boy Genius Report-leaked slide of some sort seems to indicate that Sprint employees will be participating in a Pre “launch lunch” Friday, June 5 at noon, which raises a few interesting possibilities. First, it could mean that they’re prepping for a June 7 retail launch, which would line up with the Best Buy rumor and fall into line with Sprint’s common policy of launching on Sundays. Second, it could mean that Sprint’s trying to really go for broke with a riot-inducing evening launch on June 5. Third, this could be totally bogus; the typo in “Employee Benfits” trips us up a bit, though we’ve seen typos in legit documents before. Fourth, it’s still entirely possible that neither Sprint nor Palm know the exact date — we’re guessing the firmware still hasn’t gone gold, and until it has, they can’t be putting an immutable stake in the ground. It’s interesting to note that Palm’s Jon Rubenstein will be speaking at All Things D the week before this — which we’ll be at live, coincidentally — so that’d certainly make an apropos place to announce something spectacular like this, wouldn’t it? Stay tuned, friends.

Man, that was fast. Really fast. Not like we’re shocked at all to hear that T-Mobile customers weren’t really digging the idea of paying ten bones per month to keep a digital photo frame alive, but hey — it was worth a shot, right? As of today, T-Mobile’s quickly forgotten Cameo connected digiframe has dropped from $99.99 to $39.99 up front, while the recurring charge to keep the media flowin’ has nearly vanished by going from $9.99 per month to just $1.99 per month. Reviewers over at ZDNet seemed to be quite pleased with the value proposition at the new price point, noting that it was perfect for technologically illiterate family members who yearned to see digital images of you and yours. Sadly, you still have to walk into a T-Mobile retail store to actually buy one, but at least it’s finally worth your while to do so.

Well, here’s an interesting little number. While there’s little in terms of actual specifics, this new UCG501 MID from China’s Hualu does make a lot of bold promises, including a purported “high-performance integrated graphics card,” built-in GPS, some mobile TV of some sort, CDMA2000 connectivity, built-in Bluetooth, a “high capacity” 4700 mAh battery, and even a built-in optical mouse (yeah, we’re still trying to figure out how that last one’s supposed to work too). Of course, there’s no word of a price or release date just yet, nor is there any evidence that it is anything more than a prototype at the moment — and, judging from the unit display, one that either lacks an accelerometer or has a not entirely functional one.
